Differing thicknesses of the hyaluronic acid gels are used for different areas of concern. Toxins are primarily used to lift, soften and relax certain muscles of the upper face to smooth fine lines and give a more refreshed and relaxed appearance.
The Hyaluronic Acid component of the fillers provides the area treated with increased plumpness, hydration, and an overall improvement in general skin health.
An ageing face is primarily caused by volume loss, with the added problems of dehydration, thinning and loss of elasticity to the skin.
Hyaluronic acid, therefore, is the perfect component in which to use to replace this loss, as introducing it will help plump and rehydrate the skin as well as helping collagen and elastin to be reintroduced to the area treated as an extra benefit!
Lips are treated with the medium density gels and can have a lasting effect of up to 6 months in most cases. There are many different options here in which to achieve your desired outcome, with a small amount of filler providing a very subtle plumping look, whereas a little more can give you that perfect pout!
Deeper lines forming around the nose and mouth are usually formed because of volume loss to the cheeks and midface. At the consultation, Charlie will always discuss with you the best and most cost-effective way for you to achieve the lift of these lines and the look you desire, whether it be by treating the lines directly with a finer filler, or by investing in the thicker cheek fillers for a longer lasting, the more wholesome solution to the ageing face.
Deeper, thicker, more long-lasting fillers can also be used to redefine the chin and jawline region, even to improve the profile in younger clients. As we age, the volume not only reduces from the skin and tissues, but also from the bone, so the supportive bone structure around the jaw and chin region recedes too which can also increase the look of the jowl and marionette area. Along with the loss of laxity, thickness and hydration from the skin in this region, the fillers are an ideal tool we hold to help us to replace volume and improve the appearance of this area particularly.
Some areas that are treated with filler can positively effect and improve other areas suffering because of generalised volume reduction. Treating the midface (or the cheeks) for example, with the thicker more long-lasting gels can have a noticeable improvement here, but can also help the under-eye area, the jowls, and the jaw region.
As well as the fillers mentioned previously there are also ‘specialist fillers’ available that can directly treat problem areas such as under eyes, or the ‘tear trough’, to lift hollows, dark circles and take the ‘tired’ look away.
With regular or premium ranges of fillers available, Charlie has different products suitable for every area, skin type, and budgets!
Hyaluronic acid fillers all give an instantly noticeable improvement, which continue to soften, hydrate, and integrate into your tissues giving gradual improvement for up to 3 months after treatment. However, a period of bruising and swelling need to be expected (and planned for!) for up to 2 weeks post-treatment, in which arnica or vitamin K cream can be used to help speed up this recovery time.
